Alongside tiredness of elderhood, there’re some sicknesses and bad traits which may restrict your practice of righteousness or even invalidate the rewards of the righteous acts you do. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ العَجْزِ وَالكَسَلِ وَالجُبْنِ وَالبُخْلِ وَالهَرَمِ وَالقَسْوَةِ وَالغَفْلَةِ وَالعِيلَةِ وَالذِّلَّةِ وَالمَسْكَنَةِ. وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الفَقْرِ وَالكُفْرِ وَالفُسُوقِ وَالشِّقَاقِ وَالنِّفَاقِ وَالسُّمْعَةِ وَالرِّيَاءِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الصَّمَمِ وَالبُكْمِ وَالجُنُونِ وَالجُذَامِ وَالبَرَصِ وَسَيِّءِ الأَسْقَامِ.ـ
“O Allah, I seek refuge with You from disability and laziness, cowardice and greed and tiredness of elderhood and cruelty and negligence and desperate need and humiliation and wretchedness. And I seek refuge in You poverty and from disbelief, immorality and discord, hypocrisy, search for reputation, and I seek refuge in You from the deaf and dumb and insanity, leprosy and any bad kind of sicknesses.”
