Imām Abū Dāwūd reports, that the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam entered the mosque and found a man who was about to finish his prayers. He heard the man supplicating in his prayers with the following du‘ā’. After hearing that the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “he is forgiven… he is forgiven… he is forgiven.” The du‘ā’ reads:
Text
Pluralized
“O Allah, I ask you, O Allah, the One, the Eternally Besought of all, He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable unto Him, that you may forgive me my sins, you are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
