Du’a: #50 My LORD, Forgive My Ignorance and Carelessness

Sayyidunā Abū Mūsā al-Ash‘arī raḍiya Allāhu ‘anhu narrates that the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to make a du‘ā’95, which includes the following:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِـي خَطِيئَتِـي وَجَهْلِـي، وَإِسْرَافِـي فِـي أَمْرِي، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنّـي. اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِـي هَزْلِـي وَجِدِّي، وَخَطَايَايَ وَعَمْدِي، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي.ـ

“O Allah, forgive my faults and ignorance, carelessness in my life, and whatever You know more than I do. O Allah, forgive my serious and humorous ways, my mistakes and intentions, for those are characters I possess.”

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا خَطَايَانَا وَجَهْلَنَا، وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أُمُورِنَا، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنَّا. اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا هَزْلَنَا وَجِدَّنَا، وَخَطَايَانَا وَعَمْدَنَا، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَنَا.
