The father of good legacies is Sayyidunā Ibrāhīm ‘alayhi al-salām. Everything about him has a good legacy. Despite that, he supplicated to Allah to grant him a good legacy in this world, and acceptance in the Hereafter. He said:

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِـي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ.وَاجْعَلْنِـي مِنْ وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ. وَلَا تُـخْزِنِـي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ. يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ. إِلّاَّ مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ.ـ
“O Allah, give me a good name among later generations; and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. Do not disgrace me on the Day when everyone is resurrected, the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, and when he alone will be saved who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”
