Reflection: The Good Thing about Here and the Hereafter

The good thing about Here (this life) is that one may commit deadly crimes and still find ways to means to hide them. Being able to hide our crimes means escaping justice.

But…

The good thing about the Hereafter is that tiny deeds are revealed and judged for, let alone major crimes.

وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَا وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَـٰذَا الْكِتَابِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّا أَحْصَاهَا، وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا، وَلَا يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا ﴿٤٩﴾ـ

“The Book [of deeds] will be placed before them and you will see the guilty apprehensive about its contents. They will say, “Woe to us! What a record this is! It does not leave any deed, small or large, unaccounted for!” They will find everything they ever did laid in front of them: your Lord will not be unjust to anyone.” [Qur'an 18:49].

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ ﴿٦﴾ فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ﴿٧﴾ وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ ﴿٨﴾ـ

“On that Day people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds: whoever has done the smallest particle of good will see it; while whoever has done the smallest particle of evil will see it.” [Qur'an, 99:6-8].

Moral of the post:

The believer always has the Hereafter in mind, in all he does.
