Ya Bunayya!
We live in the era of social media. An era of the abundance of information.
An abundance of information doesn’t necessarily make us knowledgeable nor add value to our life and our journey back to our Creator.
An abundance of information only increases our tendency and temptation in wanting to be heard. In so doing we seek attention. And in so doing we compromise our modesty, males and females.
Yes… we can’t avoid using social media, as it has emerged to be part of daily life. However, we can use it responsibly. We can use it without losing ourselves, without giving up on our values, our identity, our dignity, our modesty nor our malu-ness.
Ya Bunayya,
It’s sad. But the truth is, we’re losing our shame without paying attention.
Just pause for a while, and ponder on the meaning of shame, modesty, dignity, moral values, and malu-ness, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
These are the qualities, once lost, animals become more worthwhile than us. Hey! Before you feel awkward, ask me why? “Why?” you’ve asked!
Because animals live according to the fitrah (nature) upon which they were created. Not according to our fitrah. And when we give up on our fitrah to live according to theirs, do you think it’s fair to compare ourselves with them?
Allāhu Ḥāfiẓ!
